Don't touch the body piercing and don't let anyone else touch, kiss or lick the piercing.

Don't change the piercing until your piercer tells you it is o.k. The less you change the jewlery, the less irritation.

Never use alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, Bactine, Neosporin or Vasaline on the piercing. They may damage
healthy cells and cause scar tissue. Bacteria thrives in ointments.

Avoid
Jacuzzis, pools, lakes and the ocean. If you must swim cover your piercing with a waterproof bandage.

Reduce intake of alcohol, drugs, caffine and aspirin during initial healing period.

Avoid smoking, chewing tobacco and spicy foods for oral piercings.

Avoid tight fitting clothes which may irritate a new piercing.

Definately avoid tanning oils, lotions and sand.

Do take vitamin c, a zinc supplement, multivitamins and increase calcium intake throughout the healing process
and get plentuy of sleep. This will accelerate the healing and regeneration of the tissue.
